A nice example of a situation were a tester reports an anomaly that leads to the discovery of a bug.

Axis fuel shortage?

David Hoeft - Anybody else noticing that the same Axis unit is out of fuel day after day?

It may just have been random chance, but the last two long games I've played have had the same Axis unit out of fuel 3+ days in a row... not impossible, but odd.

David Dunham – I know there is a limited pool of units that are eligible for this, so it is probably not unusual. Especially if you killed one of the other units. in the pool.

Jeff Dougherty – I haven't noticed that. Hard to say without knowing your situation. Axis units that run out of fuel have to be:

_1) On the board. One of the 10 that are eligible, the 9 Pz, doesn't come on until very late. And of course, units can also be destroyed. I believe that in the current rules the OKW Reserve units are not eligible because of how John originally wrote the rules, but I could be wrong.

_2) Not otherwise OoS. Running out of fuel is supposed to be in addition to other supply problems, so if the program picks a unit that's already cut off it will select another.

So depending on your sitch, there may not be all that many units eligible.

David Hoeft – Even with those adjustments in mind, it seemed atypical.

Just thought I'd mention it.... though if no one else has noticed it, then I expect it was just chance.

Jeff Dougherty – Actually, it's good you did. In checking the code for this I noticed that the OKW Reserve units couldn't actually run out of fuel, despite all being armor/mech. Uploaded a quick code change and fixed that quirk.

BTW, our producer was able to quickly spot this because we coded this (and many other rules-related issues) in the scripting language Lua.
