Partial damage indicators
G'day folks - I hope you're well.
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but couldn't find it. What do the red partial damage indicators on AFVs mean? I know tracks = immobilised, gun = no fire, but can't be sure about the rest. Thanks for clarifying!

Re: Partial damage indicators
Hi John
How are you?
If you hover your cursor over the vehicle in question, the dialog box that pops up should show you a text line towards the bottom-middle of what is wrong with the vehicle.
However I can think of two of the other ones:
guy sitting: I think its the loader, so reduced shots per turn
small rectangle on rear deck: something with the engine, so reduced action points
I actually wish there were a few more modes they had thought up for problems caused by partial damage..
One glaring one would be "main weapon" instead of "weapons disabled" that way you could still fire a MG from the front of the tank.
But I think they could not do this because of tanks with turrets, no way to separate the coaxial MG in those turrets from the front-facing MG in the hull..

Re: Partial damage indicators
IIRC...the list is...
Main gun disabled - red main gun
Secondary guns disabled - ?
Vehicle immobilized - red tracks
Reduced shots - red person
Reduced action points - red engine
reduced spotting?
Not sure about the last one...

Re: Partial damage indicators
Thanks folks. Someone mentioned that the thought the sitting figure (commander?) might indicate reduced accuracy. I use iPad so it's a little hard to see, but your comments make sense.
Perhaps we need 'partial boosters' too? Vodka bottle for the Russians?

Re: Partial damage indicators
that's possible...instead of reduced spotting, maybe it is reduced accuracy...

Re: Partial damage indicators
Its possible that the sitting guy symbol indicates three possible things, reduced vision, reduced accuracy, or reduced shots

Re: Partial damage indicators
Just had another one. Just above the seated figure, what looks like a red turret lid. Pip? Or is it secret Slithery business?

Re: Partial damage indicators
If you hover over that unit, it should tell you at the bottom what damage has been done...that one is prob reduced visibility, i.e. dead commander.johntindall wrote:Just had another one. Just above the seated figure, what looks like a red turret lid. Pip? Or is it secret Slithery business?

Re: Partial damage indicators
That was the answer. On iPad, if I tap and hold on a damaged vehicle, below the vehicle's name there is a text explanation of what's wrong. Hadn't noticed it before so I must suffer from Reduced Visibility too!pipfromslitherine wrote:You should be able to tap or hold over the icons?
