Allied Escort Points?

Dear All,

I'm playing the latest version of Commander Europe at War and, in late 1940, I just got a message that I don't have enough "Allied Escort Points" (11 instead of 12) and my convoy size will be reduced by 8 percent. But despite going through the game manual with a fine tooth comb and reviewing all the in-game screens, I cannot find a single thing on what escort points are and how to redress the imbalance.

A web search proved equally fruitless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Grand Strategy Manual v3.1 sec 6.8.3 pg 177.

First line - "Added Allied escort requirement in the Atlantic. French and US fleet units at war will also be counted.
CV and DD counts as 3 while a BB counts as 1."

The convoys spawn every 4 turns so you have a turn or two to rectify the situation. Naval surface vessels in Gibraltar count for the Atlantic

and Mediterranean for escort / presence requirements.

Thank you so much for the response, but the manual that came with my downloaded version of the game is only 38 pages. Where is this "Grand Strategy Manual" of which you speak?
