Just a quick check - if the army can't have 16 bases of mounted battle troops is it excluded from the competition?

The umpire's decision will be entirely arbitrary on this. Drop me an email with specifics.

This actually makes quite a difference to army selection. Are you saying that all foot armies are allowed ?

Runners and Riders.

The Knights of St John have been allowed to enter by special dispensation from the Pope.

Has the 1580 Japanese army also got dispensation from the Pope or is it just a typo?

It's a typo, it should be 1576. The Pope has not given any dispensation to vary the tournament conditions other than allowing the Knights of St John to stay up past their bed-time for the party, because it's a weekend and they have been good.

Hi, just asking for a local driving conditions update for Usk and the surrounding area. I'm definitely coming regardless, but debbie and our son are planning on coming up for weekend. They where planning on going off to "do stuff". However Debbie is not comfortable with driving in the snow...

Hence what are the conditions like in the area please?

Enjoyable.. Nice venue and period choice... Also thanks to Simon and his coat tails... He was a good and patient mentor... Learned loads...

Just need to avoid shiney baggage camps and not get drawn in... Cost us 4pts...

Also thank you to our opponents... 4 enjoyable games

Thank you to Richard and my four opponents for a great weekend.

Really enjoy Godendag. The themes are interesting and the competitors are always friendly.

Thanks to the Good Doctor for running the most enjoyable tournament of the year once again. Myself and Mr Edwards graced it with our usual complete lack of competence but unbounded confidence ('the feeling you have before you know better') and achieved mid-table mediocrity.

I thought some of the additional restrictions worked particularly well. Requiring that at least 50% of the mounted battle troops were average resulted in a pleasing degree of randomness as Average groups of 4 go 'pop' very easily and the number of gun batteries was reduced by the 'per foot base' rule.

However I never seem to reach the end of my list of rules queries, particularly on keils.

Regards
C
