LF with Javelin

Bit of confusion over here last sunday about these troops.

Do they count as missile troops an therefore have to test to charge ?

No, they do not. According to the Simple & Complex Moves chart on p. 42, a charge by skirmishers is a Simple move, and so doesn't require a CMT. And according to the rules at the top of p. 60, a BG entirely comprised of LF cannot charge unbroken non-skirmishers in open terrain at all. Lower on the same page, the section on "Charging with Missile-Armed Troops" applies only to non-shock MF armed with long-range missile weapons.
