It's on again! Sassanids vs Rome rematch. List + questions ?

Post by Keith »

Hi all
We are having a rematch this Friday night :)
This time we are using 700 point armies.

:?: First I have a question about LF and LH with bows shooting.
They get 1 dice/2 bases at effective range , is that still measured from the front edge ?

They get 1 dice/3 bases at max range , does this mean they can shoot 6MU's ? And is that still measure from the front edge ?

Could a BG of 6 LH shoot if they were in a 2 wide formation and 3 bases deep at max range if only the front edge is in range ?

Below is my list for Friday night , any suggestions ?

I am just about to start painting up some more Cataphracts , but my medieval French are crying for some paint still.

LH 2nd rank can shoot, 3rd can't - it measures from the front edge of the base to its front.

That's what I thought but the quick reference sheet inthe back of the book says

LH and LF

"1 dice per 2 bases in effective range"
"1 dice per 3 bases outside effective range"

what does that mean ?
I looked and looked for some explanation in the rules but no luck.

It is mentioning both LH and LF because they have the same dice at effective range, however, as only LF have a long range the 1 per 3 only applies to them - you have to read all the relevant bits of the rules :)

I suppose they could have listed LF and LH as separate entries but it would, IMO, have been a bit of a waste of space.
