Can you reproduce the error?

Here we go again. Asking me questions and then nothing gets fixed. Sorry but I'm not optimistic.

No, I don't see how I can reproduce the error. It happens when it decides to happen. Looks like the same thing as before. I already posted two files and never heard back on what anybody thought about them if they were even looked at.

We can't also reproduce the issue. So naturally we need ask questions.
In my opinion something or a broken driver/codec is interfering with the game in your system.
You can try the following:
Please try to disable all background programs, by running msconfig and disabling all non-windows start-up programs and services. Then once you have disabled all non-Microsoft services, please run the game and see if the issue persists. If it does not, please then reopen msconfig and reenable those services, one by one, until you find the program causing the problem. A tutorial on how to do this can be found below:

I understand how to do that. Problem is I already keep a tight rein on my startup programs and they are all essential to the proper running of my computer. I have no problems with other games including Panzer Corps which is basically the same engine.

I submitted two txt files at your request and haven't heard back on them. Did you folks ignore them? If not, what was the result of your analysis?

This is why I like to try a demo before buying a game. There are different systems and sometimes there can be a conflict. But there was no demo. It's a good game but I suggest that if you folks can't solve the problem based on the two txt files I submitted at your request, then you refund my payment and I'l take the game off my computer.

Edit: I have a computer that's fairly new, an AMD 3.5 gig four cores and an nvidia 750 GTX ti and have an install of win 7 ultimate x64 that's only a few weeks old so I haven't had time to screw it up yet. I have a program that keeps all my drivers up to date.

Hello Rich,

Well I understand that you already have a tight reign on your start-up programs, but something might be interfering with the game or is not working correctly. Armageddon, is based on the same engine as Panzer Corps, but technically there are huge differences.

I've reported both your forum thread to the developers and am waiting to hear back from them. Sorry for the delay while I check this.

The thing is, I can't give up anything in the start menu. What if the game has a conflict with my mouse driver or something comparable? And everything is comparable. If there's a conflict, I'm not giving up anything in my start menu. I like the game but it's not something that I absolutely can't give up. I posted the exact error. And I attached two txt files. If the devs can't fix the problem, then just give me a refund (I wrote to Iain this morning about that) and I'll move on.

Here's what's active in my start menu:

Realtek audio hd manager
Realtek audio background process
Logitech setpoint event manager - keyboard
USB Sharing - enables two computers to use printer using wires
Razer MEC application - Mouse driver
Canon network scanner - for the printer
Saitek SST Profile launcher - for the joystick
Saited MFD file system driver - for the joystick

You see, there's nothing I would do without in order to play a game. Maybe this list will help a tech fix what's wrong with Warhammer.

Well I'm afraid the developer can't fix an issue when the issue is in not in the game side but rather on the system side.
If it's on the game side, I'm sure that the developer will fix.
Anyway, like Joe told you, we have already reported the issue to the developer.

I guess we'll see. It's a nice game and I hope they can fix it. Hopefully we'll find out in the next couple of days.

Well, I've had enough. I reported the errors a couple of weeks before the holidays. How can I cancel this order and get a refund?

You said that everything was working on 19th of December. Then you reported back, saying you started to having issues again on 21th of December.
II do believe that the issue is with your system, otherwise will would have our forum filled with similar issues. So unfortunately, I believe that there won't be a fix on our side, as the issue is with your Windows installation.
I was just hoping to hear from the developers, a suggestion, that could help fixing the issue on your system, as none my of my suggestions have worked so far.
Unfortunately they haven't replied me back so far. As I have explained you before, most of our staff and the developers are on holiday.
Regarding your order, I'm afraid it's not possible to cancel it. You can contact us at support[at]slitherine.co.uk and ask for a refund, but we will have to escalate the issue to our office.
We apologize for all the inconvenience.

I said everything was fine because I went all the way through the first scenario of the tutorial. Then I got a different ctd later in the second scenario iirc. Then I got the same ctd in the second scenario after the 103 patch. I have not been able to finish even the second scenario in the tutorial.

I have no doubt there is some sort of conflict with the game and my computer. That's why it's important for companies to provide demos. If a company doesn't want to do that, then they must be prepared to provide a refund in the event of an incompatibility. Computers and software are so complex, this sort of thing should be expected occasionally.

I will followup with an email to the support address you provided. Thank you for trying to help.

Sorry you are having problems. The office was shut over the holidays and we are just back. There is a lot to catch up on - I have 700 mails :) The support team do what they can to help but they are not the developers of the game.

If you get a crash please send us the crash log from My Docs\My Games\Armageddon\

If you can get a saved game where the crash is reproducible we can fix it but a random crash is almost impossible to fix without more information. How often does the crash occur for you? Is there a way you can avoid it? Do you notice any pattern to it.

Can you try turning the volume to 0 if you have not already.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Played through the first two scenarios with no crashes. Saved the game. Then a while later started with the save game and it crashed shortly after. I'm including the save file with the error log in the zip. Since the crashes seem to happen randomly, you may or may not be able to reproduce the crash. There is no way to avoid the crash. It happens when attacking. Seems like it's always a range attack but I'm not positive about that. There seems to be no pattern at all except a (range) attack probably causes it. I don't know if it's always the same unit. I did not try turning the volume to zero but will try it later today and report. But I'd be surprised if it's the sound causing the problem.

Ok, I turned all the sound off and went through the entire third scenario without a crash.

We think there is a bug in the miles sound system for some users causing a crash. We've been chasing them but no answer yet. Sorry it effects you but at least you can play now with the volume set to 0, until we work out the issue.
