By the "strict wording" in the rules (and the diagram), changing formation in charges by one base width to bypass friends, must contract FIRST before they charge.
However where a unit needs to charge because it fails a CMT not to charge AND there is no room to the rear to complete the contraction (, due to say Impassable terrain), it seems nonsense to say that the charge cannot happen.
We (Me, Robert and Hammy) were unable to find in the rules, if the impetuous unit should burst thru the unit to the front, because the charging unit should contract the one base width. Sense dictates that EITHER the unit KINKS (temporarily) to pass the friendly unit in the situation of an impetuous charge only OR bursts thru the unit to the front.
Can this be FAQ(ed) to clarify this point
