Pretty sure you can rewatch streams at least a couple of days after they went live.
Re: Order of Battle Pacific Featured on Weekly Streaming Ses
Excellent! Thank you.
Re: Order of Battle Pacific Featured on Weekly Streaming Ses
Nice one guys!

Re: Order of Battle Pacific Featured on Weekly Streaming Ses
I really enjoyed the stream. The graphics are really beautiful and the gameplay mechanics look quite solid too.
The only thing i noticed, compared to other games like PzC and W40K Armageddon, is that it seems to be at a slower pace than those games. Whether this is a good or bad thing i don't know?
Also from the stream, it seemed artillery was fairly underpowered. A welcome change, but hopefully it still has a use.
Looking forward to this one coming out.

Re: Order of Battle Pacific Featured on Weekly Streaming Ses
like most games now days, video doesn't do much justice as questions asked don't always cover all subjects either and i bet there is a slider to speed up and slow down stuff like that, plus artillery is strong for a reason in all war games, as it killed more men than bullets in all modern wars, if you take mortars into it as well, so lets call it projection weapons, then it's more accurate a statement

Re: Order of Battle Pacific Featured on Weekly Streaming Ses
Any idea as to when the video is ready for viewing for those of us that missed the live streaming? By the way looking forward to playing this game.

Re: Order of Battle Pacific Featured on Weekly Streaming Ses
as soon as it's up they will post a new link

Re: Order of Battle Pacific Featured on Weekly Streaming Ses
Regarding play speed, there is an animation speed setting, so you can speed up all the animations if you want to.
It's also important to stress that when Surtur was playing, he was taking his time playing, in part to showcase some of the animations and effects. However, proud though we are of the visuals, we've designed the game so that they never slow or impinge on gameplay. Animations do not pause gameplay. You can issue new orders as animations are playing, and the animations for those orders will overlap. If you issue two orders to the same unit (i.e. move & attack) you can issue the attack command immediately after the move command, without waiting for the animation to play. In this case, the animation will snap to it's final position.
This means that as you get into the game, you can play fast.

or as slow as you like

Re: Order of Battle Pacific Featured on Weekly Streaming Ses
I eagerly watched the stream and was not disappointed. I actually liked the pace of the game, I like to have time to really plan the strategy. The visuals were stunning and the UI seemed pretty straightforward and readable. Hopefully we will get to see the leveling process and other aspects in future streams. CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THIS RELEASES.
Re: Order of Battle Pacific Featured on Weekly Streaming Ses
I missed the live viewing and watched the replay vid instead so it's been up for about 8 hours now. As for the link though I can't remember...
Regarding my post about the game seeming slower pace, what I actually meant is that it seems to take longer to kill units and advance across the map compared to PzC and 40kA. I also noticed from the vid that the turn length was a relatively long 30 turns or so. I'm not saying this is good or bad but just slower paced compared to the aforementioned games. Good to know though that you can skip the animation but they are so nice that I think I would watch them.
I was impressed with the sunken ships! So cool! The rest of the graphics and animations are also really well done which makes me wonder why the game seems not to be releasing soon?

Re: Order of Battle Pacific Featured on Weekly Streaming Ses
We've still been doing changes/additions to naval/air warfare recently (such as the double FoW states you see in the stream) and aside from that we still have a few scenarios left to do. The game(play) itself has been quite solid for some time though, so it has certainly reached the final stages of development. The rest of the graphics and animations are also really well done which makes me wonder why the game seems not to be releasing soon?
