Magnesia mission

Hi,
just got this game think its great!! bit stuck on the magnesia mission( take less than 150 casualties)elephants are a bit of a threat.
any body got any defensive tips?.

The key to this is as few attritiion battles as possible. Concentrate your forces and punch. Getting rid of the elpehants is, of course, of great importance. Once you punch through, roll them up.

Place your best stat heavy troops opposite theirs. Make sure you have skirmishers and militia (preferably with the elephant attack specialist upgrades) placed opposite the elephants and make sure you target them at the elephants.

If I recall, that's where the opponent sends out a cav unit past the advancing elephants to sweep away any light troops you may have sent out. If so, wait until the cav passes before advancing your anti-elephant lights beyond your battle line. Otherwise, it was a normal battle. Try to lure out one or two enemy uits with ranged fire and destroy them before engaging everything at once. A numerical superiority in one area will keep your own casualties down as you crush a few units at a time.

I've handled most every other scenario with out skirmishers, but this may be the one that really requires them for a clean victory.
