Opening problems with Europe at War

I downloaded Comander Europe at War successfully but when I open the desktop icon I get 3 seconds of the introtune and then the game shuts down. Any suggestions please?

Sorry you are having problems. Can you tell us where you downloaded it from and what your machines specs and operating system are?

I downloaded Commander Europe at War from Slitherine. Here are my details:

The system I am using is Windows Vista Home Premium. I have an Acer Aspire laptop.

It happened to me too...it´s the damn Vista.

Instead of clicking on the desktop icon just right-click over it and choose "open/run as administrator". It would ask if you really want to run this application (yes I DO, stupid Windows Vista!) and then the program would run with no further problems.

I have just purchased Europe at war. When I opened it for the first time I was presented with a series of flags. I thought this allowed users to pick a country - so I picked Spain for my first game (nice and safe). The game is now all in Spanish - which I cannot speak. How can I reset the game to play using the English language, thanks!
