So, how does that Editor work? Tips exchange zone

Post by Aekar »

#1 I can't start the editor. It just doesn't launch.

Solution:
You possibly put a value in the .whdat files that isn't compatible.
Reset the whdat files to their defaults / vanilla and see if it works.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

#2 I created a scenario but it doesn't show up in the list.

Solution:
Step 1. Copy your scenario files into the game "data" folder.
Step 2. Open the "scenarios.whdat" file in your game data folder. Add a line for your scenario there, linking to your senario file. Like
"CampScen25.whscn imperial_guard.png The Final Death Mire"
Step 3. If you want to replace the imperial pic, look for it in the UI game folder and the Graphics game folder, and put a new PNG file with the same size.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

#3 The Editor says my scenario cannot be validated, yet Tools -> Validate Scenario has no output.
And ff I launch the scenario, it crashes the game. How to get past this?

Solution:
?

( I am stuck on that at the moment, help is welcome)

The "grey hex" in the special hexes section seems to make the game crash. Also check if you did not put an hex outside the map boundaries.
The validation tool doesn't work. My scenario is fine and it still gives me an error.

You can add this one :

#4 I can control all units and there are no enemies

Solution:
Step 1. Make sure to properly set up the scenario parameters, especially the Factions tab.
Step 2. Click on a unit while maintaining the SHIFT key to access its options. You can control for which side this unit is fighting here.
