Slow response

Just purchased Panzer Corps via Steam. Am running on Windows 7.
Program seems to run very slowly, the animations almost pause part way through and there is a delay with using the mouse after any combat or switching between units. Sometimes cannot scroll across the map without waiting for several seconds. Have tried setting screen/game to different resolutions and adjusting the scroll/movement speed but doesn't help.
Laptop is 3 yrs old but was reasonably high spec for the time and has no difficulty running other more complex games or PG2 so am thinking there is some kind of graphics conflict going on ?

Have you tried the "no cache" trick?

If it doesn't work, I'm sorry but I don't have any other sugestions.

Thanks, 'no cache' helps and game is now playable though not as smooth as other turn move games.

You can always check if the issue is related with sound or not. Just open the folder where the game is installed and rename subfolder "Audio" to "_Audio".
