Invisible Partisan v3.1

Post by fangotango »

I just opened the latest file in a pbem game, and noticed that a French Partisan unit is invisible. I have a feeling it was invisible last turn as well, and I think it may have appeared the turn before. It was initially visible. This partisan appeared before Paris was captured by the Axis. I think the turn after was when Paris fell, and then the Axis rejected the Armistice. All I can see are the numbers that are normally on the counter. I can select the counter, and the game gives me odds projections for potential attacks it could make, but there is no image for it in the box in the bottom left corner of the screen which shows the selected unit. It just contains the unit name, but all the unit stats are shown. The Axis player can presumably see it, since it was attacked and reduced to 2 steps this turn. This is the only French partisan in the game.

A while ago I had an issue which superficially seems similar:

I will add the missing files to the bugfix so we have them distributed to all later. I had the missing files on my computer so they seem to have been forgotten in the file transfer to Slitherine when they made the installer.

In the mean time you can rename the corps to a German one and the graphics will reappear.

Try renaming it as a UK GAR and see if that helps.

I will have to try it next time. The poor thing got eliminated before I had a chance to get to it.

Since it was created before France fell, it did end up with the unusual name of "French Partisan Free French" after the loss of Paris and the rejection of the Armistice. Perhaps that explains why it was transparent (no images for units of that name?).

I suppose I could open a previous turn and try out the fix.

You obviously miss some graphics files. It would therefore be a good idea to reinstall the game.
