Re: pick it to pieces (2):
The theory with this one is that all units are large (if possible) and so will more easily (ha ha) shrug off enemy shooting and so get into the 2" range to be able to start dealing out their own kind of pain. They compensate for lack of shooting by a strong artillery presence (I just noticed I cheated, can only have 1 unit of heavies... have to find something else to do with 8 points)
Considering the above, I'm not sold on attachments, I just had 18 points spare so thought I might as well spend it. Now that I have 26 points spare, any thoughts on better use of points?

Have you paid 32 points for the large infantry units? Shouldn't they be 48 (6x8)?
Apart from that looks good

You're probably right. My spreadsheet doesn't automatically change the 'small' to 4 and 'large' to 6. I should have been bothered, but I wasn't and therefore pay the price :/martymagnificent wrote:Have you paid 32 points for the large infantry units? Shouldn't they be 48 (6x8)?

Re: pick it to pieces (2):
Best use of 10 points is for a rifle skirmisher attachment to a large unreformed line infantry. 4 dice for 10 points is a bargain, especially as they'll only lose 1 die with cavalry around.
You could drop a line and not lose any effectiveness.

Ok, two options:
I either keep the horse artillery and lose one Line Infantry or I lose the Horse Artillery.
Which do you think would be most effective?

Re: pick it to pieces (2):
Ok, Version 2:
Prussian C-in-C Competent 30 1 30
Mixed Division Competent 30 1 30
Prussian Line Average Line Large 8 6 48
Rifle Skirmisher Attachment 10 1 10
Prussian Line Average Line Large 8 6 48
Prussian Fusiliers Average Vet Small 16 4 64
Prussian Hussars Average Drilled Small 8 4 32
Field Artillery Average Drilled Small 24 2 48

Mixed Division Competent 30 1 30
Prussian Line Average Line Large 8 6 48
Rifle Skirmisher Attachment 10 1 10
Prussian Line Average Line Large 8 6 48
Prussian Garde Superior Veteran Guard Small 17 4 68
Prussian Dragoons Average Drilled Small 10 4 40
Field Artillery Average Drilled Small 20 2 40

Cavalry Division Competent 30 1 30
Prussian Cuirassiers Superior Drilled Shock Small 17 4 68
Prussian Dragoons Superior Drilled Shock small 17 4 68
Prussian Hussars Average Veteran small 10 4 40
Prussian Horse Artillery Average Drilled small 24 2 48
So, the two units in bold are interchangable. I can't have both.
Which one should I lose?

Re: pick it to pieces (2):
I'd keep the Horse Guns. Cavalry struggles with Infantry in Squares, guns nearby creates the dual threat and will hurt the squares. it's the more offensive option of the two.

Thanks Pugsville, I've decided not to play FoG:N, so won't be using either list, but your comments may be useful to someone who does want to try my list.pugsville wrote:I'd keep the Horse Guns.
