Early Bulgars (test list)

Post by sgtsteiner »

Hi

Having game tomorrow and looking to use an Early Bulgar force (803-852AD)
Using Dbmm Bk3 list I have devised the following
Any glaring mistakes ?

FC x 1
TC x 2
4 BGs of 4 Boyars UnDr Supr Cav Armd Lance Swd @ 64 pts each
5 BGs of 4 Horse Archers Undr Avg LH UnProt Bow Swd @ 40pts each
1 BG of 4 Slav Nobles Undr Avg Cav Armd Lt Spr Swd @ 48pts
2 BG of 8 Slavs Undr Avg MF Prot Lt Spr @ 40pts each
1 BG of 6 Slav Archers Undr Avg LF with Bow @ 30pts
1 BG of 4 Byzantine Relics Drill Avg Cav Armd 1/2 Bow/Swd 1/2 Lan/Swd @ 56pts

Total 14 Bgs @ 790pts

Not sure if Slav foot would be Lt Spr or Def Spr ?

Cheers
Gary

That looks pretty close to what I would imagine an Early Bulgar army might look like.

Hi Hammy

Thanks

The Byzantines are a bit of Dbmmesque indulgence maybe :-)

Cheers

Would the Bulgar Nobles not be Bw* ?

I think the Slavs would be MF LS pre the 812 change, and HF DS afterwards based on other interpretations.

That list looks real fun. However with that many horse I would be looking to do it closer to 650AP. Any ideas how that might look?
