W40k Armageddon Steam Version has crc failures

Hi,

i have bought and installed the game just a few minutes ago.
EVERYTIME i want to start the game, after the intro, i get the following error mesage and the game crashes to desktop:

CRC Failure, please reinstall the game !!!

So please advise me.


My System data shet:
WIN8, 64 bit, Intel i5, 16 GB Ram, Nvidia GTX770

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with your game.

Please uninstall the game and install the game in a different Steam library folder.
Try installing in for example in C:\Games\... instead of C:\Program Files (x86)\....

Try installing and disabling temporarily your Internet Security programs while downloading and installing.

still the same error...

Firewall and virsus scanner was deavtivated (no other programs are running on my system).

Maybe it is possible to try the installation with the version directly from slitherine?

Only if you bought from our shops and redeemed a Steam key. If you bought on Steam then, I'm sorry, but it's not possible.

Sorry you are having problems.

If you bought from Steam you will only have the Steam version and no serial. If you bought from us directly you will have an installer and a serial.

The Steam version does not have that CRC error as it is related to the installer system. Where exactly did you buy the game?

I've been having this error too. I bought the game off steam.

When I've verified integrity of game cache it comes back instantly saying it's fine. I've tried re-downloading and re-installing, and on both my hard-drives without any success.

I've had my internet security turned off when I've been downloading and installing it too.

Any ideas?

Fixed! When I saw that it was mostly an error with the disc versions I decided to disable my virtual drive and bam! It worked.

Same problem here and I resolve it the same way as CaptBasil, I disabled my virtual drive. Try it out

Hi guys

we found out it is a bad error. The error means the Steam Client is not running. If you see this issue it means the game cant detect the Steam Client. We're going to change the error to make things clearer.
