Re: What a game !
so what you like a panzer crop game with a 40k skin as it's absolutely nothing to do with 40k.
Whoever dreams up these kinda games really needs to ask themselves am i just stealing money from people using an existing IP or am i really making a game that representative on this universe i'm trying to tell a story in?
As surely this is a rip off as it plays NOTHING like anything in 40k.
gretchin with 80% accuracy in melee and range and having 2 attacks at melee range is so wrong you have no idea.
a typical gretchin vs an imp guard needs a 4+ to hit 5+ to wound then the guardsman has a 5+ armour save.
how you have the gretchin with 80% accuracy stats just boggles my mind and anyone who knows anything about 40k can clearly see this is not what us 40k players expect.
slitherine has like some many other companies bought the IP rights to make a cash cow rather than make a real game.

Re: What a game !
well if you enjoy it, you play it, if you don't, you won't, either way welcome to the forum and enjoy yourself, if this isn't your cup of tea, try something else, there's plenty for everyone to chose
sorry it's not to your liking, but you can't please everyone, those that do love it, so maybe it's like marmite

Re: What a game !
Slaarth, I understand your concerns, but I read in some pre-release interview that Games Workshop explicitly forbade the developers to use the tabletop rules - I guess they're afraid you guys won't buy all the miniatures and stuff any longer if there's a perfect digital representation of the experience.
And since there were a number of shovelware-quality WH40k games in recent memories - most came out on mobile first - you gotta ask yourself the question of who's to blame here. Imo, GW decided to cash in on their license.
Now, I'm also quite disappointed with some of the mechanics in Armageddon - especially the return of a unit-count based army limit as opposed to the infinitely superior point-based approach the tabletop uses, but ... well, you gotta admit this is better than another WH40k themed Plants vs. Zombies, no?

Even if GW forbade the devs from using the TT rules, these ones are not even close to it.
If you can't make a 40k game like it should be then i don't want to know about it.
As a stand alone game it has merits as a 40k game it's DOA
Now as for games on mobile phones, who exactly is such a sucker they would buy those anyway?
Re: What a game !
when you understand the game mechanics a little more you will realise that gretchin are the worst unit there is except for maybe conscripts. 80% is the accuracy they start with before any mechanics kick off. you wont to kill 40 gretchin hit with a salamander which will drop there morale and do some fair damage and then you will find they are pretty crap in combat.Slaarth wrote:so what you like a panzer crop game with a 40k skin as it's absolutely nothing to do with 40k.

dont attack with your guys if they are orange or red (rest and refit or stick next to commander) as there accuracy is serverly reduced by this think of it as combat readiness also use artillery or long range guns before attacking in close.
support units always support so kill support troops first
BEST TROOPS in my opinion (early on ACT 1)
Salamander scout though soft
predator annihillator (pretty good against both infantry and all but heaviest tanks)
hvy bolter
bassilisk (not support)( more of an infantry killer)
Medusa (not support)(i think its the medusa has range 3-5)(use more on vehicles as has AP)
punisher tank infantry and light vehicles only
Predator tank upgrade which has side sponsons with a plasma gun (bout 5 missions in before you can get it)
cammander infantry/ Vehicles
for tank hunting only the destroyer/conqueror/ 2 predator tanks 1 with a nova gun and 1 with a plasma gun
also armoured sentinals are decent

Slarth your getting confused this is not based on 40k its based on Epic 40k very differnet tabletop game made by GW think final liberation

Says the "sucker" who bought the game without reading any reviews, looking at any gameplay, reading anything other than the words "40k"Slaarth wrote: Now as for games on mobile phones, who exactly is such a sucker they would buy those anyway?
You seem to be hijacking every thread to vent your frustrations. Please just stick to 1 thread regarding your issues with the difference between this game and 40k. That way the other threads can actually stay on track...
Re: What a game !
Well i see 28 threads on this page and i've commented in 2 and made 1 myself, so how exactly is that hi jacking?JimmyC wrote:Says the "sucker" who bought the game without reading any reviews, looking at any gameplay, reading anything other than the words "40k"Slaarth wrote: Now as for games on mobile phones, who exactly is such a sucker they would buy those anyway?![]()

As for sucker, yeah people who buy phones games are, as for me being a sucker, yeah i am a sucker for 40k, i got 25k worth of figures, terrain, carry cases, paints, and modelling accessroies so yeah i am a sucker for 40k and also Blood Bowl.
Did i read reviews, nope, non out before the day or release, gameplay, yup i like turn based games, hex moving is fine and the Steam videos and such looked all good, why you think i bought the game.
So i'm sorry your wrong, i did my homework, i trust steam, and now i've been lied to by the marketing which steam doesn't fully control.
The marketing lied and i got tricked, does that make you happy?
idk about you but i don't spend time on publisher sites before today,

Re: What a game !
Oh look, Slaarth is thread hijacking again.
Why don't you go play tabletop, you inane little human being? It's clearly what you prefer, and despite the fact it was made very clear this would not follow TT rules you are still berating it for not following TT rules?
Deal with it.

You say you did your homework and yet you are surprised that this is not exactly like 40k? Did you watch it with your eyes closed or perhaps with the commentary in another language?Slaarth wrote:...

From all your posts, it seems your main point is that you thought that this would be like tabletop 40k, ported to PC. Yet if you saw any of the gameplay at all, there is no way you could think its an exact port.
The way you whine and use CAPS just makes you sound like a spoiled kid. Please have a constructive discussion or otherwise go air your grievances somewhere else.

yeah i can see what ya saying, but that was from money past when i was working 12 hour shifts 6 days a week making a bucketload.Caveman wrote:Hate to feed the trolls, but:and you complain that much about a 30$ game you bought???Slaarth wrote:i got 25k worth of figures, terrain, carry cases, paints, and modelling accessroies
these days being retired i have to consider my purchases and unfornatuely i'm still a 40k addict and when i saw the steam info and it looked like they finally had made a TT version for the pc i just had to buy,
Re: What a game !
the information on steam doesn't show it's not based on TT, hexs are a natural form of gaming mode i've used before so i had no concerns, many battle games use hexs. Dawn of War and other 40k games previous have had enough of in game videoa and such to tell there not exactly TT rules. so befgore you go off and tell me how i'm wrong again, go check the steam, information and tell me honestly from that would you say thats a fusion game or a TT port? An when i say yes it's uses hexs instead of inchs, i thought they had uniformed all hexs to be say like 6" or soemthing like that.JimmyC wrote:You say you did your homework and yet you are surprised that this is not exactly like 40k? i'm not the only one who thought this was a port, i had to tell over 20 Blood mates to hold off as it wasn't what we ALL thought. So i guess i'm not alone on that and given some o fhte jobs these people i play BB do for a living you wouldn't exactly call just a bunch of idiots now. Yet from the information and chats i've had we thought it was finally a TT [port to PC just like Blood Bowl had been

Re: What a game !
Ok I'll lay this out real simple.
The product did not mention a feature you wanted
You bought the product
Now you whine that it does not have the feature you wanted
Stop making up that you were 'lied' to, you were not. Nobody has misled you, you only misled yourself. You've come in under the false impression 40K games mean tabletop, and ASSUMED the game would have it, despite the fact it doesn't mention ANYWHERE that it has TT mechanics.
Seriously how do you think advertising works? If something is not on the advert it is NOT IN THE PRODUCT.
So why did you think this was based on TT when it never said it was?
Where the hell is your justification for your whining?
