Unit Scaling Question

Post by Stardog765 »

Hello all.
One question I do have so far after playing for some time.
Will there be the ability to change the scaling of units through modding?

I know this might seem like not so important and maybe its not but I would like to know if there will be a way to change the scaling of units?
Mainly infantry units. It just kind of takes away from the immersion in the game.

I know its a nitpicky thing :) Sorry

Scaling, being a highly flexible thing, makes this question somewhat difficult to answer.

What exactly do you mean by scaling? Raw unit count? Sure, with extensive re-balancing across the board to compensate. Weapon ranges, movement ranges, and terrain appearance? Sure, again with some really extensive modding. Hard to say. Personally I liked PzC and it's totally unknown scale. A battle map could be half a country while the next could be a single city, either way worked extremely well. 40k is somewhat much more defined, but this brings significant advantages and awesome details I think our players will recognize and enjoy quite a bit as they experience our 1.0 launch. Let no one say we just reskinned PzC to make this game! :D

Oh no sir what I am asking about is not nearly as important as actual game balance.
What I am talking about it strictly visual scale.
And again I dont put this on the real important list I was just curious more than anything. I felt the same way with Panzer Corp, which I loved and play all the time.
I am only talking about the size of the infantry compared to the vehicles.

Like I said I know that might seem silly but to me its just something that is kind of an OCD thing I guess.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

You can always zoom out the camera with middle mouse wheel. :D

But if you mean scale like that... I suppose you can always just mod the unit art. :)

So the art can be modded in that way. Cool.

Thank you.

I don't see why not. But if you do that, considering that a Titan takes up a full hex, the size of your infantry men will probably only be a few pixels in size...
