AfrikaKorps losing path as campaign starting point?

I was wondering why you can't select more than one starting point for the campaign in AK. Would be nice if it was possible to start on the losing path (which I have not played yet). I would prefer such an option to voluntarily losing the battle that decides over winning / losing path.
