Beta Impressions

As much as want to like this game, unit balancing I consider improper is a dealbreaker for me.

I´ve played the tutorial and a bit of act 1 so far and this is the lineup I used.

1x Command Squad
1x Infantry Squad (my inner 40k nerd said "no", so I didn´t upgrade to Command)
1x Veteran Ogryns (worthless, will be replaced as soon as it dies off)
2x Scout Salamander
1x Armageddon Pattern Sentinel (will be replaced with Scout Salamander as soon as it dies off)
2x Armageddon Pattern Basilisk
2x Bombard
5x Annihilator Leman Russ

It´s a real shame. There´s so many different units in the game, but most of them seem to suck. Add to that that the limited slots goad you towards the most powerful stuff available, instead of giving you the option to take more, but less powerful units and most of the roster just goes to waste.
Hell, I got access to like 40 different units (didn´t count), yet I could play with just 4.
Command Squad, Annihilator Leman Russ, Basilisk, Scout Salamander, that´s it, all that is needed.

Infantry especially seems to be incredibly weak and I have found no purpose for "specialist infantry" like the Flamer Squad, Ogryns or Rough Riders. The Command Squad is just a more powerful version of the regular Infantry and not limited in any way (why?).
It should imo be a command & control unit that provides buffs to adjacent units or something like that. Making it more powerful is ok and goes in line with the 40k TT where Commanders are usually quite strong. But it should be limited to one or one per, idk,5 regular infantry. Point is commanders command something, they provide leadership.

I liked the dialogue between the missions, it´s kinda cheesy but that´s part of the fun in 40k, and that´s about it so far. Gameplay whise, so far it was just stronger unit smashes weaker one and abuse superior range vs the AI.
Maybe someone with more understanding of the game can point me towards the finesse and deeper intricacies of the gameplay, because so far these elements have completely gone past me.

I appolgize for stepping in anyones toes if I have, but that´s just how I see it atm.
