Swords and Scimitars tournament - recruitment CLOSED
I am looking to run a Swords and Scimitars themed tournament to begin November 24 at the latest. The intent of this tournament is provide those largely finished their Digital League games a competitive but fun venue to play in which a mix of skill levels are welcome. I hope to get 24 for 4 pools of 6 players each.
Players will be assigned random armies from the middle period of Swords and Scimitars from the list below with each player allowed one veto. Each player will play everyone in their pool in a paired mirror match using 500pt armies (one using their assigned army, one using their opponent's). Armies can be customized before each battle. Fog of war and double moves will be used. 3pts will be awarded for a win, 1 pt for a tie of any sort. The top 2 players in each pool will advance to the quarter-finals sudden death round where players will once again play each other in a paired mirror match; the winner will be decided by adding up the scores of each player for both games with the best overall percentage advancing to the next round.
The tournament is planned to begin November 24 at the latest. The pool stage will be very quick and rigorous, all 5 paired games to be completed within 8 weeks with adjudication for any unfinished matches, and each sudden death game to be completed within 2 weeks.
Tentative army list:
Later Crusader (Richard I)
Mamluk Egyptian (early)
Ilkhanid Mongol
Latin Greece (early)
Nikaian Byzantine
Trebizond Byzantine
Epirot Byzantine
Medieval Cypriot (early)
Middle Bulgarian

Love to join in, although I don't expect any success in this late period. Completely lack the knowledge/experience to offer a veto.
Best Wishes

Even though I didn't fair well in the last one, I'd like to try again.

Re: Swords and Scimitars themed tournament - recruitment
I know its rather late, but I'd like to give it a go.
I glanced at the armies listed, none of them jumps out at me as being particularly ineffectual, so no veto I guess...
