Pandora starts up in a black screen and hangs my Mac

I played Pandora a few times then I changed the resolution in the game settings and now it will not start. When I try to start it It makes my whole screen black and I have to force restart my iMac to get out of that black screen. I tried deleting the game from Steam and reinstalling it, deleting all the content from my Mac, reinstalling it…three times, and every time I try to run the game it is the same: Completely black screen and I have to force-restart my Mac.

I'm running it on Mavericks and everything was OK until I changed the screen resolution in Pandora's Settings screen.

If you are running version 1.53 or earlier I'd suggest installing the 1.54 update. That may fix your problem.

Steam doesn't seem to update to that version. I bought Pandora: First Contact (Mac version) on March 25, 2014
And instead of installing the standalone non-Steam version I used the Steam Key to install it on Steam. And the old URL to download the standalone version doesn't work anymore so I requested a new download URL so that instead of using Steam I can install the standalone (non-Steam) version and try that.

This should now be fixed on all distributions (First Contact 1.4.3, Eclipse of Nashira 1.5.4).
