2º Feedback

So after installing the hotfix the beta 3 seems to work when finishing the first tutorial, instead of crash to desktop.

The music stills not sound when playing the maps and the sound of effects is a bit high right now.

The lack of death animations and the (at least for me) incorrect angle of fire when attacking in angle makes the playing experience a bit insipid.

I prefer the passing turn system of Panzer Corps instead of the few seconds popup. I want to know if the turn pass correctly and whats the map objectives and remaining turns. A parchment with info at the Astartes style would feel awesome.

2nd mission is very interesting. The flamers feels weak, they are limited to close range but do not work against trenched units or even anything else...i have only used them with success against low morale enemies. They die very fast to be useful.

The plants are deadly or just a picture? i haven't moved a unit to them since the background history seems to paint them deadly.

3rd mission. The hardest at the moment (i haven't played more). 11 turns to beat a well trenched zone that are limited by thin bridges...no thanks. The leman russ is good against infantry but seems a bit more useless when meeting the vehicles? Maybe because those vehicles were tank destroyers :(

The basilisks, my favorite unit of all the Imperial Army. When i show them defending the main zone i was like "Oh Shi-!" thanks for making them so useful. [ Hope it works so well in my hands as the enemy used it ]

Well, i lost in the last turn because i tried to enter with my units from 3 fronts as the bridges are so thin, so i wasted time. Units lost, the flamers. I think thats all. They did nothing, just block the LOS to the enemy and distract.

4th mission. The one with the mines, right? While deploying the units i used the 'P' hotkey. --> Crash: 0x754fc42d

The last thing i will say is...the background history is very...bad...to be educated. Without more info you learn that the orks where indeed in that space hulk. [ I love those meteor ships  ]
Come on, of course we are a bit freak to know the history we are playing but take the time to explain it to all the people that play this game. Not only fans will play.

Oh and don't forget those terrain pictures ( wall of rocks and mines for example ), theres a rainbow icon.

Ok, thanks for letting me test this game as I'm a huge fan of the Steel Legion.

Installing the game.
All seems correct. If something, the installer has a very tinny font (1920x1080) in the first page. Maybe because there is a lot of copyright stuff eating space.

Testing the game.

Main Menu
The music sounds very low and can't remember when (if minimizing to desktop for the notepad) but it stops. And no longer sounds while playing the first mission.

Save / Load Menu
The load menu crash if i try to load-delete while nothing its selected as the game is new.
ExpAddress: 0x012236FF --> Load /// 0x0122c4e5 --> Delete

Also there should be the text symbol (pipe?) that let you know that you can select and write a description.

Scenarios Menu
There is no scroll to move around fast.
Also an option to filter by tutorial maps, Act 1 maps etc. should help. Nothing too disturbing as a lot of buttons but a List with Expand/Collapse Options.

Also, the resolution don't feel correct as the background image has text semi-hidden (Superior-Right Corner) and the back to menu letters/button feels like having a border below.

Campaign
I know that i'm writing now with typos (maybe?) and my english can feel not correct (at least i try to do my best :P ) but i think that the "uninhabied" term on the first tutorial is a typo.

The descriptions are a bit simple. I know that mostly are placeholders like pictures but should tell more about what to expect on the map.

The font text don't fit always. Warhammer 40k is dark, the letters should be dark too. Make feel strong. Waaagh!!!
It reads very clear anyway. Not the same the character names. They are too close, hard to read.
And when finishing the mission, the enemy name (Commander something) is clipped.

The Act info and Location feels great with that console font, but the white color not. At least not in that grey dirty world in the background.

Warhammer text are more grey and gold than white. Maybe different fonts too when factions are talking? Ork font, Imperial-Military font, Templar-Marine font...think on it

The interactive text are great. Feels more personal. Like, do you want to talk or skip this and lets shoot something? :D
Here would helps too a scroll and a button, so you can read back the texts.

Playing
Yay nice looking. More or least like Panzer Corps but i like that a lot so keep it up boys :D

Hope there will be a popup option to see more details about units like his combat history.

Ok. let me do a GPU Test here...
* Zoom Out so we can see the whole map & Tactical Map 99% gpu usage
* Max Zoom In so can see more detail but less map 45-50%
* While attacking 30% (interesting)
* Main Menu 25-30%
* Loading 30-40% [more or less, the loads are very fast done]

Ejem, continue...

The XP is hard to calculate, sometimes an infantry unit shows part of a skull while attacking or destroying but other don't gain nothing at all.

Can you explain the difference between Hit Points and Strength. After figthing i see the Hit Points system more like a Wound-Fatigue while the Strength is the common Life that we know of other games. The Heart symbol confuse me.
Like the color line behind the strength after counterattacks, green if no damaged and yellow if we are hitted (maybe red too?, haven't see it.)

There is no AI ??? At least the first mission is a doddle? - too easy.

The first tutorial starts without any info. And then at the second turn, a msg popup telling you the background history of that map.

And finnally, the LOD. If you can't see/hit the enemy the pictures should be a bit greyed out or even hidden. Maybe that last option is too difficult or unbalancing but hey! you can't see him at all after that mountain...

Oh and tell the terrain costs as the cities seems to block part of the walk of the salamander but not the jungles?? :?

Cya, and thanks again

Damn, i feel like in class doing the Usability Testing

Great feedback, keep it coming. :) I have a few questions.

- To help better understand the problems with UI layout, fonts and text sizes, could you please give your screen resolution and physical size of your screen?
- Can you give us some specs of your PC (processor, memory, video card) - might help to interpret GPU testing data
- I have posted a hot fix in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=321&t=53652. Did you get the crash between missions with this hotfix installed? If not, could you please try to install it and see if the crash happens again?
