Point costs for HYW DISM knights

I am just getting into the game and have a question about point costs. I'm starting to build a HYW French army and the list in SoA allows MTD knights to fight as DISM Knights. If I choose to select the knights as DISM, do I have to pay the MTD costs? I know they fight as Superior if dismounted, but it seems for the cost, I'm getting hammered. The reason I want a DISM knight BG is that is what I have in my collection. Any thoughts?

Yes you do have to pay the mounted points cost.

You have to pay the full point cost for them because you always have the option of deploying them on foot or mounted. The rules for this are on p147.
However, in a friendly game, cant see many people minding you deploying dismounted men at arms having only costed them as such as long as its agreed in advance?
