Hi all,
I had a minor glitch in my last 'vs computer' game. I had a unit of lightfoot charged by some lighthorse. The LF stood and got hammered. Now the computer told me that the unit was (after melee) fragmented but it acted like it was routed. Also, the Lighthorse didn't pursue and each turn the 'melee' flag was posted above the unit even though they were many squares apart and increasing. There were never any 'combat results' listed though.

Re: minor glitch
Interesting. Thanks for reporting this.

Never seen this one in hundreds of games. Now the computer told me that the unit was (after melee) fragmented but it acted like it was routed.
This was due to a known bug in the fail-safe script that was supposed to end a combat if the units were not adjacent. This has been cured in the patch which should go live next week. It would (probably) not prevent the initial anomaly from occurring but it would prevent it from messing up the winning unit for the rest of the game. Also, the Lighthorse didn't pursue and each turn the 'melee' flag was posted above the unit even though they were many squares apart and increasing. There were never any 'combat results' listed though.

It's possible I misread the status, but I'm pretty sure it was fragged. Anyway, it it's a <1:100 occurrance it's not a huge issue really.rbodleyscott wrote:Never seen this one in hundreds of games.

It is possible it was Fragged and then (being light troops) Retreated rather than Routed.ravenflight wrote:It's possible I misread the status, but I'm pretty sure it was fragged.rbodleyscott wrote:Never seen this one in hundreds of games.
That's my feeling, although we will of course try to pin down the bug.Anyway, it it's a <1:100 occurrance it's not a huge issue really.
However, the main thing is that with the bug correction that is already in the forthcoming patch, the other unit won't be left "in limbo".

Re: minor glitch
Hard to tell. It was the Bicocca scenario, and it was one of the two aquebussiers in the middle and 'not in my control'. From my perspective it looked like they were routing because they continually moved away, but in hindsight they didn't seem to have the 'routing/scream' section. They DID however have the 'melee' tag and then the arquebussiers move (my take 'rout') back. Perhaps (as you say) they were 'withdrawing from combat' even though they were not in contact... so 'moving away from where the glitch said the combat was'.rbodleyscott wrote:It is possible it was Fragged and then (being light troops) Retreated rather than Routed.ravenflight wrote:It's possible I misread the status, but I'm pretty sure it was fragged.rbodleyscott wrote:Never seen this one in hundreds of games.
So, I'll revise it - I don't think they were routing and you're probably right, will be fixed with the known patch.
