continue game beyond 1945?

hey guys

I would like to know if there is any possible way to continue the game beyond 1945?

Like make a change in the TXT file?

That is not possible because you have quite a few variable arrays with content that will get an out of bounds error message if you move the year past 1945. So it's quite a bit of work to extend the game.

Another reason it's not done is that we are not allowed by Slitherine to extend the time period of GS. It has to be from 1939-1945.

thx for the response.

i was however wondering that if i remember coredtly there used to have an option where you could get the game never to stop? i believe it was either in the first versions of gs or in the vanilla game?

so it would not be possible to put this option again in 3.10?

in my last fortress europa i think i would have lasted until 1947.

But why couldn't it end in say, December 1945?

I agree, it would be interesting to have that option, and how bout this: when Germany is defeated the german player randomly takes over either the us/Britain with a dow 2 turns later! What if! of course us gets atom bombs in august, but not many and they gotta be carried by str. cool.
