Where Can I Find What Objectives Are Tied to Which Missions?

Post by EvaUnit02 »

I can't figure out how to find which missions will grant me the objectives that my PR office is asking for. Where can I find this information within the game?

Well, all of them, really. I often don't know which projects to start in order to meet my PR objectives. For instance, I had an objective for "Hypersonic Research at the Edge of Space" and had to use Google to discover what mission it was linked to. Now I have one called "Extended Duration - Level 1" and have no idea what that is tied to or what it even means.

I understand. Those are actually "goals" that can be achieved by completed specific missions.

"Extended duration level 1" can be achieved by any manned spacecraft that can reach Earth orbit. If we take Mercury as an example, one of the missions available is entitled "Orbital Flight - Duration Level I". Again, all manned programs excepted the X-15 which is strictly suborbital have this kind mission. Some spaceships can perform longer durations than others: while Mercury can only achieve Level I, Apollo can achieve Level IV, and the Soyuz 7K-OK can achieve Level VI. Also be sure to have a look to the ingame Buzzopedia where you can get a lot of information about goals, missions, spacecraft: look for the (i) "information" symbol.

It took me a while to figure this one out too, and I wish there was a more obvious consolidated place to see the goals associated with a program.

To see goals you have to go into the information panel for a mission, and click on the final step. There will be a gold star next to the step name that you can click to see the goals you will achieve for completing it. Especially with no ui tooltips in the game, that is really bad! I always assumed that the star just meant "this is the last step" or something, not that it was a clickable UI element with such important information hidden behind it.
