Fighting multiple battle groups
Dear Commanders,
A quick clarifying question please. Sorry if this has been already answered elsewhere.
When a battle group simultaneously faces (whether at the front, flank or rear - no matter) multiple enemy battle groups, is the fighting for each enemy battle group resolved simultaneously or one by one? In other words, say one battle group A faces 3 enemy battle groups B, C, and D (all of different troop types). I know that the enemy should calculate the number of dice and POAs for each battle group separately, but does the enemy then apply all of the hits from all B, C, D battle groups together against the hits inflicted by the A, or does he apply B against A, then C against A, then D against A?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Fighting multiple battle groups
Together and separately.
Say A inflicts 6 hits in total, 3 on B, 0 on C and 3 on D
In return it takes 2 hits from B, 3 from C and 2 from D
A loses 7 to 6
B loses 2 to 3
C wins 3 to 0
D loses 2 to 3
So 3 of the four BG must test for losing melee.
Also any CT minus for losing against specific weapons/enemy will apply. So if B was elephants A would take a CT minus for losing when fighting elephants

Thank you. I suppose the same procedure also applies to the Impact Phase Combat. Correct?

Great, thanks.
Re: Fighting multiple battle groups
Strategiser - where are you based?
Might be worth seeing if you could get a game with an experienced opponent to walk you through some of the more complex mechanisms of the game?

Re: Fighting multiple battle groups
Would love to, thanks. I am based in London. However, I am still in the process of buying my first FOG army (this is my first historical miniature wargame), and so will let you know when I have it all in order. Unless, of course, if you are guys also in London and regularly play FOG:AM (e.g. in Camden's Escape), I could stop by someday to observe the game.

Drop Tim a mail. You could probably join in a game or somebody would probably lend you some figures.Strategiser wrote:Great. Thanks, Graham. I should definitely visit it one day!
