Victory and Defeat conditions (version 2.0)

Post by Strategiser »

Dear Commanders,

A quick question for clarification please. Page 126 of FOG:AM 2.0 rules state the Victory conditions when playing to a time limit e.g. for a Major Victory (same goes for the Moderate Victory): "A side that inflicted at least 4 more attrition points than the enemy and >= 3:1 gains a Major Victory." My question is what is this 3:1 for? It's not written but I assumed this is the winning side's army break points divided by the accumulated attrition points (i.e. break points/AP). Is this correct?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, so if you inflict 4 attrition points to the enemy but they don't to anything to you, then you are >=3:1 attrition points. 4:0 in fact.

If you inflict 4 attrition point to the enemy and they inflict 1 to you, then you have exactly 3:1 and therefore you are >= (equal in fact) to 3:1.

If you inflict 9 attrition points to the enemy and they inflict 5 to you, then you have 4 more attrition points, but you are <3:1 (you are 9:5) which means it is not a 'Major Victory'

Thanks. So it's the ap ratio, not what I thought.

As another example, if one inflicts 12 attrition points and the opponent inflicts 6, although the attrition point difference is more than 4, the ratio is less than 3:1 (it is 2:1), which means a Moderate Victory instead of a Major one. Correct?
