You weren't originally, but why not seeing as everyone seems to want it?

Hurray, DLC III is out for playing. Thats what i need really urgend.
I finished the camapaign 2 times. Its pure fun. but the boss-map in DLC II is not easy, if the player has no money to refresh troops IN the sceanrio.
My strategy to get the AA first works, but all must be attacked to minimize the AIs money. Hahaha.

Great job, Nikki!

After dlc 5 would love to see compact multiplayer mays like the campaign. Do you have any interest in making a multiplayer map pack in the same style?

The Alternate: MP map pack

v0.1 https://www.sendspace.com/file/kxm8jh

This runs with the vanilla e-file.

Out of DLC I to III, i have picked 8 maps and tweaked them for MP use. Decisive victory is always achieved when you control all primary hexes.

Thank you zjorz for your input.

@Wildthing: great you like it

@BNC: if popularity is measured by the number of downloads and/or number of posts; than i can say it is moderately popular.

By my standards it's immensly popular - didn't you say 1000+ downloads? My 2 main ones combined probably are around 600

The 1000+ downloads is for GTPG. A project that was developped and updated for more than two years. And it costed probably two years of my life

Makes sense. War of the World has been around for the best part of the year and is still ~300. Anyway, what's this one at then?

Nikki I'm not saying I'll be playing your latest mod (I have almost no time to play games now), but what is ETA on the length of this campaign?

Also how long did it take for you to create this campaign?

I'll finish LoV in next month or so...

Thanks :)

Can't tell yet how many DLCs there will be in the end nor the ETA. The ETA depends on two things: the beta of Armageddon, the beta of the official project i worked on. In the meantime i continu and hopefully finish this mod.

Creating DLCs I to III took me two weeks, 30 scenarios in total. But you cannot compare this to LoV; it is of an entire different magnitude. You could call The Alternate GC the opposite of LoV where core- and map size is concearned; the (mental) discharge mod from big core armies, maps and time absorbing briefings ;)
I'm currently working on the forth scenario of DLC IV.

Nico you didn't understand me. I asked about how long does it take for a player to complete this campaign? Not when it will be finished :)

Other than that I agree on everything you said about comparing these 2 campaigns :) You heard our cries :)

For what is available up until now, i guess about 2 hours to go through all 30 scenarios.

It starts out really small. My average number of turns i need to complete one mission is somewhere 7-10 turns.

Interesting... I hate I have so little time now. But with this campaign being short I might try it out.

Is Mission 24 really possible in only 10 turns?
Even with my better equipment due own e-file (e.g. towed sIG 33, arm. train with tank-mode) I barely made it in 12 turns. I once had muddy ground too, so bad weather should be taken into account there. Heavily entrenched bridge and city guards, bunkers, cavalry, medium artillery, heavy flak...not many units but still took a while to defeat.

I dug up the savegame and i did that one in 11 turns. I must say that i have been extremely lucky with heroes. Usually my tanks are pretty battered up after the battle. I also lost a few units which a withdrew but were then killed by enemy bombers.
Therefore i added the possibility to remove units from the map in each scenario. It will appear the first time in DLC IV but in the meantime i'm upgrading the "old" DLCs as well. All updates will be posted as soon as i release DLC IV.

The inf in my mod is somewhat more equalized and cavalry a lil bit tougher, that's why it possibly took longer for me. Replacing units wasn't an issue there, as far as the backup wouldn't have made it in time to breakthrough the bottlenecks. The entrechments at the bridges was the main bummer to pass there quickly with the needed artillery for defeating the victory city defender.
Difficult to judge for me how it plays with vanilla stats, but 12 turns should be fine as a challenge without ruining your core.
