Just kidding

Post by dbt1949 »

Just got me a goat today as I live out in the boonies and am tired of mowing the grass/weeds. We have three dogs too and they were pretty excited about this new addition to the family.
So far it's the goat 5 and the dogs 0.
Think we might get 2-3 goats more to help with the "mowing".
Only problem is that her baby just got weened today and she keeps 'baaing" for it all day and night. :?

I've got a looney brother-in-law who bought a house in the country. There not so many houses here in spain and they're extremely expensive, most of us live in flats, even in small towns.

He didn't want to mow the grass so

1.) He bought a sheep
2.) The Sheep fattened and the grass was as long and green as always
3.) She bought another sheep
4.) He got two big fat sheep who could barely move. Grass as long as always.
5.) One of the sheep was pregnant. She had a "baby sheep"
6.) His dog eat the baby sheep
7.) He had to kill his dog because the poor animal (rottweiler) learned to hunt baby sheeps and humans too. Instinct.
8.) The sheep mum disappeared without trace. The remaining one was fatter than ever.
9.) Green & long grass still
10.) Bought a "pottoka", some kind of strange, tiny (pony-like), hairy basque horse who likes to bit his master.
11.) Pottoka fattened
12.) Long grass
13.) Pottoka died (from grass overdose???)
14.) Some cats appeared in the house (two, I think)
15.) Cats don't eat grass
16.) Grass longer than ever
17.) Went out and bought another of those tiny horses
18.) The horse fattened too
19.) Grass: same lenght
20.) He bought another dog because he missed the first one
21.) More cats appeared from nowhere (no relation apparently with the first kitties); about three of them. One lived in my house for a while.
22.) He bought a mule from a friend
23.) Mule fattened
24.) He bought a mowing-machine (don't know its name in english, but you'll figure out)
25.) He could not mow the grass because of the inclination of the field (it's in the hills) and the sheep and the mule and the dog and the tiny strange horse and the cats went crazy with the noise.
26.) He had to sell the machine
27.) Grass still long
28.) He plans to buy some chickens.

That's the way that it went, more or less.

Perhaps she should sell the house. :-)

Or hire someone to cut the grass, it will be cheaper.

Or if she wants an animal, get a goat, they will eat anything.

The goat butted out outside dog a couple of times this morning. Now the dog still barks....but at a safe distance.
We have a little dog(Yorkie) that the goat thinks is it's baby and keeps trying to nurse it. The poor little dog just shivers in fear.
Now I'm sort of like a reverse sheppard. Instead of one dog and twenty goats and I have one goat and three dogs that follow me around the yard.
