Earth Orbit Manned Lunar Programs

Post by Kalesin »

Playing a game in PBEM mode against Fremen, I've noticed that I start the Gemini Program in Earth Orbit Direct Ascent, even without having sent any probe to the Moon.

It should not be required to start in Earth Orbit Manned Lunar Programs have done at least some mission to the Moon with some probe?

I think to start testing Control Modules in Earth orbit would have to be the Lunar Flight achievement, and Landers Modules, have landed a probe on the Moon.

Hello Kalesin,

The reason why we don't impose any requirements for the "Earh orbit" based programs is so that you can open them right away when you start the game, effectively skipping the most 'basic' programs like X-15 and Mercury. Notice that you won't be able to open the Moon based programs unless you've sent a probe to the Moon, so that covers the requirement you mention.

I could open testing of Gemini direct ascent before sending a lunar probe, I could not send a probe to almost 1965 because of problems with the rocket. But investigancions opened before the lander of Gemini.
