Marker ideas

Post by ravenflight »

Hi All,

I've just had an idea for some markers, but I'm not sure I'll go with it.

I was reading up on the 'infantry tactics' and I came across an interesting tidbit that the army would have a piquet line of cavalry to 'inspire' troops leaving the battle to return to their regiments. That led me to think that having a bunch of 'Gendarmes d'Elite' on individual bases as 'markers' for deterioration would be rather valid. While they would wander around the back of the battle field they would naturally converge on areas where troops were starting to leave the battle, thus resulting in a base being put down. If they drop another level another gendarme would arrive etc etc.

I'm not sure I'll go that direction as I have some really nice casualty markers from AB, but I thought it would still be a good (and appropriate) method of marking unit deterioration.

I think this is all good idea.

I use standing wounded on small 12mm square bases for the CMT not to advance.
I use the same size dead guy for disorder
A horse on rectangle for waver
The routs are usually pretty clear.
