Apollo - F/G/H penalty issues

Hail!

I just completed the F type mission, skipping the C type mission.
So, I placed the CSM and LM into lunar orbit and tested them, returning home Alive!

In moving onto the G/H lunar landing mission, I am being warned of penalties for:
- Manned Lunar Orbit
- Unmanned Lunar Orbital

In most places so far I have checked, performing the manned version of a mission wipes out the penalty risk for both the manned and unmanned versions of the mission, but not in this specific case.

Save file attached.

Hello stratochief,

Thanks for reporting this. The bug you came across has to do with 'cancelled goals'. It has been fixed a few days ago (I came across it while testing the PBEM functionality), you'll get the fix as part of 0.7.26.

What do you mean by cancelled goals? Could you please provide a little more detail about when the issue crops up?

Yes, sure. 'Cancelled goals' are goals that you get "for free" when you accomplish some other goals. For example, if you achieve a "Duration Level III" goal, you'll automatically get "Duration Level II" as well. Achieving "Duration Level II" gives you "Duration Level I" if you haven't accomplished it already. So, for example, if you have never achieved "Duration Level I" and successfully complete a "Duration Level III" mission, the game will grant you "Duration Level III", "Duration Level II" and "Duration Level I".

The bug I found a few days ago was due to the fact that I wasn't assigning the cancelled goals all the way to the last level. So, for example, by accomplishing "Duration Level III", I was only assigning "Duration Level II" as a cancelled goal, but I was failing to assign all the goals cancelled by "Duration Level II" (i.e., "Duration Level I"). That's why you were getting reports of goals that haven't been completed.

Thanks for the quick clarification, on the weekend no less!

I was also wondering if there was an alternate way of satisfying the Rendezvous requirement.

The current game structure does not (or not clearly) allow for a partial mission success. Historically, the Gemini rendezvous'd with the Agena many times before accomplishing a successful docking and injection into a medium earth orbit. So, these partial mission failures fulfilled the rendezvous, but not the docking goal.

Could there possibly be a mission where the Gemini (or even Mercury!) rendezvous with the Agena, but does not dock, to accomplish the rendezvous requirement?

Now that I think about it, in my last play through I believe I completed the dual Mercury rendezvous, but I could have been wrong. I may try to reproduce that.

If I did the Mercury - Mercury Rendezvous, should I expect that the satisfy the rendezvous pre-requisite for the Gemini Docking missions?

Also, I noticed that the Gemini - Docking launch using Titan (Gemini) Atlas (for Agena) the Atlas / Agena launch shows a Mercury capsule during launch, not an unmanned payload as I would expect.

I'll try to fit this in the next update but yes, it's doable. We just need to grant the "Rendezvous" goal after the right mission step, even if the docking itself fails.

Notice that Mercury cannot perform a rendezvous or a docking, since it's not capable to change its orbit. I'll discuss the Rendezvous with Agena mission for Gemini with the rest of the guys.

I'll check that, thanks for reporting it!
