Tim,
What is the position after round 5?
Has Alasdair recovered his scores or has he continued to lose points?

Thanks Jim,
Now I am getting more worried about the Worlds in Koblenz. Three of you in the top 6 at Britcon.

Wow! Another really great Britcon comes and goes due in no small measure to the immense work that Tim Porter and Kevin Johnson put in. Thanks guys - without you Britcon wouldn't be the event it is. Your efforts are much appreciated.
I had 6 really tough games and was fortunate to squeak 3rd place. In my last game, I played my old mucker Jim in a sort of 3rd place play off. We know each other's game so well, so it was always gonna be tight! After comprehensively out manoeuvring me and setting up his Swedes to smash me, which they had started to do, we ran out of time and I escaped with a 10-10 which was enough to get me 3rd. I was going down big time!
Thanks to all my opponents for 6 cracking games - Matthew (a game of two halves); Lynette (Samurai civil war); Hunter (sweet revenge for last years defeat!); Alasdair ( always a pleasure to lose to the master
); John ( the draw we both needed!); and of course Jim.
Good luck to all the Brits attending the Worlds and of course huge congratulations to Alasdair not only for winning Britcon but for also topping the year end FOGR ranking - not that this was ever in doubt but also with a perfect 100 score!

Re: Tadaa! Britcon 2014 R&R plus Nemesis Challenge Matches
A great weekend! A big thanks to Tim & Kev for their stalwart efforts to make everything run without hitch.
Thanks to all my opponents for 6 thrilling games and putting up with my dice moaning.
1st nemesis game versus Hunter's LTYW German who I was hoping to get more points off but it wasn't to be.
2nd game versus Ray's Anglo-Dutch where I lost but only just survived losing my army as we ran out of time (phew) - he chats more than he plays
3rd game versus Mick's leviathan Late Henrician that simply steam-rollered me. Well done Mick for the best submarine strategy of the weekend. (Got some new dice).
4th game - I took the bye as an excuse to go out for a meal with my partner. Thanks to Tim/Kev for offering to play me anyway.
5th game versus Paddy's Late Louis XIV. Another loss trying to catch his run-away army with ploddy infantry but actually very enjoyable.
6th game versus Simon's West Sudanese where my dice proved better than his so ended as a winning draw.
If you take out the bye I would actually have come last so a familiar position then.
My strategy was a wide big shooting army that didn't exactly succeed. An addition of one decent cavalry unit would have made a difference I think.
Now off to Koblenz to play the same army. Eeek.
Cheers
Richard

Wake up after another Britcom feeling like I've been slapped around the head with a wet cucumber. All worth it though. Another great weekend. Thanks to all my opponents for six hard fought, blood soaked (quite literally after a nose bleed) womderful games.
Don and his Samurai,
Nigel and his Samurai
Ben's French
Daves Swedes
the whirlwind that was Alastair
Hunter and his oakey coakey cavalry.
And a final thanks to Tim and Kevin for all they did.
I used to be addicted to the Oakey Coakey but i turned myself around! **
I'm here all week...
**My only defense for using this shocking'ly bad joke is that its Hunters. So blame him...
Look forward to playing you all again.

I had fun and very enjoyable britcon... 6 fun hard fought games. 7 if you count Simon (before he lost his voice) friendly.
To sum up... I got a altitude sickness from tasting 7th...
Then 2x TYW french armies .. lethal... or thou General "hindsight" thinks he could have got a few points of ben, I had been brave and come forward as he was working his way through the woods I had put down...

Superb weekend with thanks to Tim and the rest of his gang.
Enjoyable games with all my opponents and even Don and I had a great chat during our 10/10 mutually agreed draw.
Good luck to all those going to the worlds.

I can only echo the thanks to Tim and Kevin for running such a monster event so very smoothly.
I had six really enjoyable games for which thanks to my opponents, most of whom I rarely seem to play - another good reason for valuing Britcon.
Time to start packing for Koblenz.
