Changes to Scenario not working

Post by gravyface »

Installed CEAW Editor 1.04, loaded the 1939.scn from the editor's data/scenario folder. Click on the "Country" button at the top and country index was 0 (germany). Changed the starting PP to 99, saved scenario. Copied my 1939-test.scn file to the game's data/scenario folder. Started CEAW, New Game, selected 1939.data (couldn't see my 1939-test.scn) but no PP change for Germany.

Noticed that when you load a scenario, it's looking for .data files, not .scn files.

Did some searching around and saw others complaining of the same issue but haven't see a resolution for it yet.

How's this editor supposed to work?

Have you tried hitting enter after you type the number? You need to do that to store the value. Just typing the number and click on the next cell or the save button won't save the value.

I just opened it again in the editor and my changes to PP are there so it appears to be saving it OK.

Now the game crashing at the Slitherine spash page. Had to move both my test.SCN files out of the game's data\scenario folder for it to load again.

What's the correct procedure? Clearly there's a way to get this to work -- there's custom mods out there much more elaborate than my simple PP-changed scenario.

Looks like I was loading the ww2.map file after loading the scenario. Saved it and it works.

Thanks
