Skirmish, one step beyond...

Post by Granfali »

It would be wonderful to have a multiplayer skirmish mode in which you can load a previously made map. Would be nice too the possibility of modifying the army file list (locally) to the needs of scenario or campaign (as squads.csv in BA). Any chance this will see the light someday?

Being able to save a created skirmish map is on our wishlist, but we have run into some technical issues with making it work simply. You can already create custom squads files for a user campaign - it works slightly differently in BA2 in that default behaviour is to ADD any units in the squads file to the 'main' one, but if you have #REPLACE in the very first cell of the sheet then the game will use only the campaign squads file data.

I'm not sure if I explained well (excuse my english), I think it would be more easy if I tell you what I want :D

1. I design a map with victory locations with the editor named "city1"
2. I create my own army list, so players can choose units that I previously selected, for example only T26, BT7 and Pz II tanks.
3. I modify the cost and maximum number for those three units.
4. I create a skirmish challenge in multiplayer and the game gives the option to select my "city1" map.
This tool would be fantastic to design multiplayer campaigns and it would give to the game a superb status in terms of edition easiness. Please, take this into account

It sounds like you are describing a mix of skirmish and normal map creation, which isn't something we are planning on supporting. You can absolutely create a user campaign with your own armylists though, and skirmished will be created. You can also (I THINK!) hook up your own random map generation scripts too. That said, it is pretty complex stuff :)
