Dan's Dog Fight, Aug 23, Gautier, MS

Post by berthier »

This year’s edition of Dan’s Dog Fight will feature the Invasion of Quarkland. This will be a three round event with each round scenario based.
Tournament Rules
1. Space is limited. First ten lists in have their spot reserved. (Last I heard, Dan had 5 in already).
2. 3 round event with rounds being 2 hours 30 minutes plus 1d6 minutes of random time.
3. Lists may not have more than 700 points.
4. 5x3 tables will be used with normal deployment zones and terrain.
5. FOG V2 Rule book and current FAQ will be used. All judge's rulings are final.
6. Any army book in print is available.
7. Lists are due by midnight August 16 to the referee, Dan Henderson at  d_n_henderson@bellsouth.net;   Late lists allow opponent to choose terrain type before initiative is rolled.
8. We will use the Austin, TX, "pistol start" method.
9. When time is called, players will finish the phase.

There will be a $10 entrance fee..( $5  venue door fee and a $5 Tourney fee).

Scenario Rules:
Round 1
Invasion of Quarkland—Player who wins the initiative is required to pick “Coast” as one of his terrain picks and it cannot be removed. All other terrain rules are in effect.

Round 2
The March on Quark (or the fight to the capital)—Terrain type is Hilly—all other terrain rules apply.

Round 3
Assault on Quark—All normal terrain rules apply except that the village of Quark is preplaced in the exact center of the table and cannot be removed. Quark is a square terrain piece with a 12” diagonal. The capture of quark is worth an additional 2 points to the controlling player. Quark may be captured two ways:
***If contested when the game is called (whether through army break or time called), you must have twice the number of stands entirely within Quark than your opponent. Skirmish stands count only 1/2 per base.
***If uncontested, the player who last had a BG pass entirely through Quark is considered in control of Quark.

Tourney Time schedule:
1. Doors Open—Registration         8:30 AM
2. Round 1               9:00 AM
3. Noon— Lunch Break       11:45 AM
4. Round 2               12:45 PM
5. Round 3                 3:30 PM
6. Winners                   6:15 PM

The early hour of the tournament end allows for Dinner afterwards or early drive home.

Venue is MaCnarB’s Gaming Center located at 2307 Highway 90, Gautier, MS.

The Gulf Coast Monthly will be out tomorrow, Aug 3. The ITC has been taking up my time. Sorry for the delay.
