Have Windows 8.1 - finally got mine working
Updated my integrated Intel Graphics Card
When I dug down to the Commander - The Great War folder, and clicked on ctgw_steam.exe
I received the message msvcp110.dll is missing
Tried the MS Redistribution downloads - both the recent MS download and the one in the steam game folders - same message
Tried separate downloads for msvcp110.dll 64bit
- placed in System32; no change; same error message
- placed in SysWOW64; changed
- got an error message 0x0000007b - possible a 32/64bit error
Added msvcp110.dll 32bit to SysWOW64
- some progress - received error message msvcr110.dll is missing
downloaded msvcr110.dll 32bit
Not a solution but a work-around
Downloaded the latest

Re: Steam Version Wont Start
Good to read you got it fixed and yes always first update your drivers, 3 steps to do when the game will not start:
If you have problems with starting the game:
To run the game 3 things are necessary:
1) Video card drivers from its vendor installed. CTGW uses OpenGL for graphics and it does not come pre-installed with default Windows drivers (Direct3D do). Required OpenGL version is 1.3, which dates back to 2002 as we do try to support as much machines as possible.
To avoid conflicts, please first make sure you update and use your latest Graphic Video Card drivers!!!
Check for latest Intel Drivers:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com
Check for latest ATI (AMD) drivers:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
Check for latest NVIDIA drivers:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
To verify your OpenGL version installed, download and run glewinfo:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3914099/glewinfo.exe
it will generate a text file with all necessary information.
2) (Re)Install:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3914099/prereq ... st_x86.exe
The game requires Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2012.
Normally on install, you are requested to install or repair Visual C++, so you can do a re-install and this time install or repair Visual C++ when prompted to do so.
or
The redistributable can easily be downloaded on the Microsoft website as x86 or x64 edition.
Depending on the software you wish to install you need to install either the 32 bit or the 64 bit version. Refer the following link:

Re: Steam Version Wont Start
Hello it seems to be running fine. But with some games on Steam maybe its to do with the specs causes my computer to crash. I read its because the video card is overheating. But does that mean theres a fault with the card and you need a replacement? If someone can advise on that thanks.
