Ok, I was mostly out there to test stuff (doesn't mean I did not have fun).
First playthrough was mostly a "hey let's see how's stuff doing" one. I opened various programs and rocket combinatons I rarely if ever tried before. I tried to send everything that's possible with the lunnik rocket to see if it works well - and it did no bug. I encountered two Voskhod related bugs that got reported and decided to make a new playthrough.
The second playthrough was a serious "sprint" to the moon game - no secondary objectives at all. I did manage to send a moon landing mission in 4.1968 (and with high reliability 95-92% stuff), but had a very bad roll (random number = 1) that caused a catastrophic event killing the crew.
Determined to push forward, I launched a second moon landing attempt at 1.1970, only to face yet again a catastrophic event (this time on the way back to earth). Random number was higher this time, but this was my backup crew and they were not really all that up tp the task. At this point I really gave up (I had no relaly good cosmonauts left and rebuilding the program would take some 3 years or so).
Lessons learned:
1) A soviet moon landing in late 1968 is possibe within the framework of the game (it was really bad luck that did me in, I remember sucessfull landings before with lower reliability rates).
2) You can be doing great for 99% of the game, but bad luck can really do you in on the last streach. This is consistent with what I learned in my last NASA playthrough.

Good stuff, thanks Sabratha. Where are the posts to the Voskhod related bugs you mention? I cannot find them.
Cheers,

I've reported them directly to Asana, assigned to user "Ignacio L". They are named:Nacho84 wrote:Good stuff, thanks Sabratha. Where are the posts to the Voskhod related bugs you mention? I cannot find them.
Cheers,
1) "[BUG-MSN] Sputnik 2 last step not on minimap"
2) "[BUG-MSN] - Wrong requirements for vostok durations"
3) "[BUG-MSN-STABILITY] - Voskhod suborbital manned mission freeze"
In other news, I landed on the moon using the UR-700 in 4.1968... but I think there might be a bug with this. Can you tell me what should be the prequisites for the UR-700 lunar landing? I mean what steps does one need to do to avoid penalties?
After I opened the UR-700 lunar missions, I was at once able to perform the last mission (landing) without any penalties for skipping the UR orbital missions etc. Is this on purpose? Only relevant mission I had completed at that point was the Zond flyby.
Re: Version 0.7.23 quick soviet sandbox playthroughs
Ah, gotcha, thanks for adding them to asana directly! I'll look into them.
Regarding the penalizations: I've spent most of this week going through the spreadsheet and revising all the penalizations for both the robotic and the manned missions, so expect a lot of changes in the next patch.
Cheers,

Good going. Will the asistant give any sort of hints on how severe the penalties are? I don't expect exact percentages, but I think the player should have some way of knowing if the penalty is around 40% or 5%. So perhaps using general terms (minor-substantial-significant-major-overwhelming) would be in order?
