Ranking?

Is there some sort of ranking system here cause I want to see how I stack up against other player?

Good idea. Perhaps a ladder like Homba provided for CC2 back in the day?

It's been on our wishlist for a while, but it's a fairly big feature to implement in a polished way. There are also the issues that (1) some people would want to be able to opt out and (2) with ranking on the line I think we would see an uptick in attempts to cheat or game the system.

It's definitely something we want to do though - we even had plans for BA2 but they fell under the wheels of the battle of attrition that is development But perhaps as we release updates...

What about a matchmaking area on your MP server? What I mean is at least a way to contact others about their game they are hosting. "where do I dl that map" etc etc. A way to communicate in more of a real time way then exists now.

And a ladder doesn't need to be something slitherine provides. Anyone play CC2 back in the day? One of our more interwebz savvy guys could put something like that together! Whats Homba's phone number?

Now that I think about it one of the problems about ranking is there are many different scenarios.
Winning one 1 scenario does not mean you are good at another scenario

true but its cumulative. Pip a ranking or ladder league would be an opt-in feature not vice versa and with an "uptick in cheating and gaming the system" well isnt that what ya need to nip those things in the bud? If I was evenly remotely savvy in regards to websites, math and anything else pertinent to todays world I'd make a ladder league of my own. Doesn't have to be something Slitherine provides at all. Perhaps I'm a little late to the party as far as that "new game enthusiasm" goes. Lets see what happens with the BA2 release!

To be honest ranking doesn't concern me I know who the best players are on here you know who they are by playing them and getting whooped despite your best efforts ! I'm pretty decent but there's far better on here than me
