From the "Visigoths in Usk" post by Hammy, he used ...
Our army comprised of :
1 Field commander
2 Troop commanders
1 BG Nobles: Cavalry, Superior, Undrilled, Protected, -, Lancers, Swordsmen
5 BG's Warriors: Heavy foot, Average, Undrilled, Protected, -, Impact foot, Swordsmen
3 BG's Archers: Light foot, Average, Undrilled, Unprotected, Bow, -, -
1 BG Javelinmen: Light foot, Average, Undrilled, Unprotected, Javelins, Light spear, -
1 BG Huns: Cavalry, Superior, Undrilled, Protected, Bow, -, Swordsmen

With an allied contingent of Carpi (Dacians)
1 Carpi allied general: TC
1 Cavalry: Light horse, Average, Undrilled, Unprotected, Javelins, Light spear, -
1 Falxmen: Medium foot, Superior, Undrilled, Unprotected, -, Heavy weapon, Heavy weapon
1 Javelinmen: Medium foot, Average, Undrilled, Protected, -, Impact foot, Swordsmen
1 Archers: Light foot, Average, Undrilled, Unprotected, Bow, -, -
We'll have to wait for the final version of the lists, but reckon these will be a good indication ...
Alan.

Doesn't look like the Falxmen will be very threatening to Romans. Are they not even impact foot?

So much for chopping off arms and legs.

Check out the heavy weapon. It cancels the opponent's better armor in melee. and gets a + against any except skilled swordsmen. so you still cancel the legionary armor, and nerf the auxilia.

I know, so in both impact and melee phases Falxmen are rolling for 5's vs Legionairies. They lose, then suffer the -1 for MF vs HF. I hope they are really cheap...
