SE unit question

Re: SE unit question
Not really Tarrack, it becomes a bit mathematical. The scale used in panzer corp does not have a meaningful zero. 1 is not twice as good as 2. Attack is only a value that holds meaning in relation to the difference between it and defense. So adding 1 attack will always be equal, and the % increases you represent are of the actual numerical value, and not the in-game value. For example, saying 1 attack on 5 gives a 20% whereas on 20 it's only 5% would be suggesting that at 5 attack an increase in 1 is equal to a 4 increase at 20. But this isn't so. Giving a 20 + 4 attack will increase the attack/defense difference 4 times as much. Increasing from 0-1 is the exact same as increasing from 20-21, or -10 to -9 because it is relative and the value compared to zero is meaningless.
It is for this reason that attack +1 heroes are still valuable on stronger units, like panthers, and on weaker units, like infantry. No matter who it applies to, it will increase your chances to roll hits.

Re: SE unit question
In GC 39 I have received messages that I have been given a SE unit, but it never shows up, what am I doing wrong?

Re: SE unit question
It should be in your reserve list. You must deploy it from your reserve list to use it.Schaef37 wrote:In GC 39 I have received messages that I have been given a SE unit, but it never shows up, what am I doing wrong?
Re: SE unit question
Very helpful, thank you!GSlapshot wrote:Just for reference below is the SE count for each campaign.
Panzer Korps SE Units
GC 1939: 2 SE slots
GC 1940: 3 SE slots
GC 1941: 4 SE slots
GC 1942-43 West: 4 SE slots
GC 1944: 5 SE slots
GC 1945: 6 SE slots
Afrika Korps SE Units
Reconnaissance in Force through Second Offensive: 2 SE slots
Gazala Line through Basara: 3 SE slots
Persia through East Afrika: 4 SE slots
On The Road to India to End: 5 SE slots
Allied Corps SE Units
Border Raids through Bardia + Torch (US campaign): 0 (no) SE slots
Beda Fomm, Crete: 1 SE slot
Crusader, Cauldron, First Alamein + Kasserine (US campaign): 2 SE slots
Second Alamein, Medenine, Tunisia: 3 SE slots
Sicily, Salerno, Anzio Landing, + Cassino Breakthrough: 4 SE slots
D-Day through Allied Disputes: 5 SE slots

In Aftika Korps I'm right now starting the Syria scenario and I have two SE tanks, one fighter and one bomber. One tank and the fighter are reward units from "Dash to the Wire". My question: Do they count against the total number of SE units posted by GSlapshot (Gazala Line through Basara: 3 SE slots)? Or do I miss one SE unit?

Re: SE unit question
My unofficial answer from play experience:
You will be able to use all 4 SE units, despite the limit of 3. However you wont gain any extra random SE unit rewards (those given at the start of a scenario) until the limit increases to more than the 4 you have. Any SE unit reward given during a scenario (scripted ones) can be used on top of the limit and are never lost.

Re: SE unit question
Is the SAS unit bugged in Allied Corps? I ask because they're supposed to be elite paratroopers, and they have a parachute in their icon, but the game doesn't allow them to be placed in air transports during the deployment phase, which really defeats the purpose as they just function as regular infantry.
Re: SE unit question
Do they have transport attached? If so 'upgrade' them so they are on foot.Trifler wrote:Is the SAS unit bugged in Allied Corps? Re: SE unit question
I made sure they are on foot already. They still can't deploy in air transports.MartyWard wrote:Do they have transport attached? Edit: I got it. My information was old. It works in the latest version. (Yay!)
