Re: Britcon 2014 Thread - including the Nemesis Challenge
Also, can we kindy ask all players to try and send in their list early this year?
Andy, our overworked list checker is going to be away from the 20th July for 2 weeks (I believe getting married!), so they do really need to be in by, say, the next 2 weeks to give time for them all to be amended and corrected.
There is an email address for list submissions on the BHGS website of fogamlists@bhgs.org.uk which forwards to Andy, and which will be redirected to someone else once he jets off to the sun - but if it can all be done and dusted before then its much better all round for everyone's sanity !

Andy, she'll taste that wedding cake and all the 'interesting' stuff will stop. You may as well take the lists with you on honeymoon

Re: Britcon 2014 Thread - including the Nemesis Challenge
If you have arranged a "Nemesis" game, one other benefit is that you are free to start a little earlier than our scheduled Friday kickoff time if you wish.
You'll have to agree a finish time (if you want... or just play until a conclusion) and also agree how you will deal with any "umpire" queries if no-one else is officially there to do it, but otherwise it might allow you to enjoy a bit more Manchester nightlife!
I'm not exactly sure when the tables will be set up and ready to go, but my best guess is by soon after midday at the latest.

Not to be outdone my list has been received by Andy too.
Believe it or not Britcon were offering me a 2 for 1 offer this year so both Robert Taylor and Taylor Robert will be on board.
Both equally as handsome and hard to tell apart.

OK, Germany will be represented by... ME
Booked flight and accommodation, got a ticket for the Medieval Period and sent an army list.
So, who wants to be my nemesis?

I (Dave Handley) have entered today FOG Ancients and would like to take up the Nemesis challenge by playing my Friday game on Friday afternoon, hopefully at about midday or just after. This is so I can be elsewhere on Friday night. If you would like to take up my challenge can you please contact myself via MP on here or by emailing Tim Porter (madaxeman).

Re: Britcon 2014 Thread - including the Nemesis Challenge
A couple of things that seem to be eluding people here. Firstly, The idea of the Nemesis Challenge is so that you can play somebody that you want to, either because you feel you'd like to play them after reading their forum threads or because you've known them for ages but never played them or they kicked your arse and you want to get your own back. Or any other reason. It works a lot better if person X says "I'd like to play person Y". If you don't have someone specific in mind you might as well take your chance in the random draw.
The other thing is that it's me that's collating these, Tim has plenty of other stuff to do. So far I've not had anything from the Fog AM players, so nothing is official. I will not accept a Challenge from Robert Taylor to play Taylor Robert, but pretty much anything else is fair game. Ok, person X and person Y aren't real people either, so don't try it!
Details of challenges to me please, either by email (my address is on the BHGS site) or by PM via the forum.

Re: Britcon 2014 Thread - including the Nemesis Challenge
I already have a friendly game scheduled vs Taylor and his mate Robert for circa 1.00 pm so I'm not available to start until the official start time anyway.
Happy to wait for the random draw or pick up the gauntlet if challenged.
Looking forward to it - although concerned that I may be bringing the wrong army. Time will tell.

Pete, I'm also concerned I'm bringing the wrong army. But does that mean we've got the right armies to face each other? Not even sure what that mean now I see it typed out.although concerned that I may be bringing the wrong army
