After the defeats of Grandson and Murten in March and June 1476 at the hands of the Swiss, duke Charles of Burgundy faced renewed challenge from the dispossessed Rene of Lorraine who had retaken his capital of Nancy. Charles, with an incompletely reformed army, moved to besiege the town in October, but on 5 January 1477 he found himself facing a powerful relief force spearheaded by the dreaded Swiss.

Designer's notes:
Charles moved south of Nancy to intercept the relief army. While severely outnumbered, his defensive position was strong enough that the allied commanders agreed on a flanking maneuver to complement a frontal assault.
The allied player thus needs to pin down the burgundians before they can retreat while the burgundians need to extract as many units as possible while inflicting enough casualties to win the game.
This is a mature design incorporating many accessory counters representing the difficulty of disengaging in battle.

60 mobile BGs, 18 turns.

a collective work on the battle of Grandson. To my knowledge, has the best information on the Burgundian ordonnance army.
