I discovered that some specific FoG army packs beginning to appear among manufacturers. I think it may be a help for newbies. So here I shall put links to vendors offering these famous starter packs.

And now, the officiel Field of Glory Battle Group packs by...

Wargames Factory

A Battle Group pack is composed of one or more BG and contains 48 plastic miniatures in 28mm scale, fully optionnables.
The cost is $30 (or €20 at the date of this writing), shipping not included (circa €6.50 for Europe).

The first BG packs are Romans and Celts (end of May, start of June).

Someone needs to get on to Xyston and get them to make some FoG Army Packs. Maybe they will once Immortal Fire comes out, since their line will cover much more in that book.

I just got some Xyston macedonians and they are superb! I wanted to get some Romans as well but have been told they are way to big compared to their Macedonians. Does anyone know if any manufacturers have come out with any 25/28mm FOG army packs yet?

1st Corps are doing value packs and seem to cover many of the armies in Rise of Rome!
Assurances are given for more to follow along with re-sculpts of previous figs..also lots of painted figs for your delectation.
Why don't all figure manufacturers have painted pics on their websites??
Surely this is their bread and butter..all they need to do is pay a pro to do their range,show them on their site and hey presto ...loads more sales...ok,got that off my chest

OK...I've just looked at Black Tree designs website and they are offering 20 figs for £12.99...very cheap!
I have many of their WW2 figs and I love 'em so I'm sure their ancients will be marvellous too
For a real crazy splash out you could treat yourselves to their 300 Spartans deal...ie 300 Spartans for £163...marvellous!

And here is another gem...Magister Militum are offering army deals in 25/28mm for many ancient armies...I think they are geared up for WHAB but they still seem good value and will get you most,if not all,the way towards a FoG army
