Hello Board.
I would like to start building a Late Roman or Principate Roman army to be able to play when Legions Triumphant is released.
Can anyone in the know give useful clues about troop types and numbers of bases that may be required?

They are just Unprotected LH, if you think they were mailed they'd come under the Armoured Cavalry available.Katsu wrote:
Could Equites Illyricani, promoti indigenae or Saraceni be mailed javelin throwing light cavalry?

Illyricani were definitely unarmored light cavalry with large shields to compensate for a lack of armour. The Saraceni were probably the Eastern Empire equivalent of the Illyricani.
The Promoti were the successors of the cavalry that formed part of the old style legions. These were possibly armoured. However you have described the ones you have as Indiginae which means they are probably locally recruited and thus could well be armoured, although I suspect it to be unlikely.
Of course these are my opinions and you will undoubtedly find that other people or sources will disagree
Hope that helps anyway.
