Pandora Runtime Error

I bought Pandora from steam yesterday and after it finished installing it I hit play and the following error came up.

Runtime Error!

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

I got it from Steam a day and a half ago and have had no problems running it, pre- and post- 1.4.1 update. Have you tried removing it and re-installing?

I've uninstalled and re-installed the the game a few times. I verified the cache for it as well.

And I went and updated my graphics drivers and did some system updates but I'm still getting the same error.
Is there a certain C++ package that I need to run the game??

Please try running the game with your Anti-virus disabled.

I disabled Microsoft Essentials and attempted to play the game but the same error still popped up. I also tried restarting my computer as well but to no avail.

Please try the following. Open the folder where you've installed the game (default: Steam\SteamApps\common\Pandora\Binaries). Locate and select a file named "Pandora.exe". Press the right mouse button and select "Properties". Click on the "Compatibility" tab. Tick the option "Run this program as an administrator". Click on "Apply" and "Ok". Double click on "Pandora.exe" for running the game and check if the issue persists.

Ok so I went and changed the properties to run as administrator. And when I tried to run the game the error message didn't pop up but neither did anything else. Based on the loading mouse the computer appeared to be trying to run it but stopped after a minute or 2.

Please match the desktop screen resolution with with your monitor native resolution.
The desktop is set to 1176 x 664. Please set it to 1440 x 900.

Ok I changed the resolution and nothing happens. No error, no loading mouse, nothing.

As you have change your screen desktop resolution, please post the last log and a new DxDiag report files.

WHOO I got it!! There are apparently 2 ways to run the application. One is from the "Pandora.exe" and the other is from an "autorun.exe" in the steam folder. I set the "Pandora.exe" to run as administrator but not the "autorun.exe". So doing that solved the problem. Thanks for your help I wouldn't have thought to set anything to run as administrator on my own.

updating flash player or java could fix it. update restart computer. i had trouble starting with both of those files, the pandora.exe and the autorun.exe, then i updated and reinstalled the game and it worked. so. uninstall game and possible directx packages, update flash player, restart and reinstall.
