Question

Post by cdngamer »

I am new to the game, and in our first play test a couple of questions came up.

First, if a unit that has received fire requires a CMT to advance is also disordered and needs a CMT to advance, does the unit need to rolls or only once?

Second, if a unit declares a charge on a wavering unit with its rear towards the charger, the wavering unit auto breaks, but does the charging unit move into contact before the unit breaks? Does the charger follow the rules in the pursuit section allowing it to charge someone else? I'm lost on what happens after the charge is declared.

Any help is appreciated.

You follow normal pursuit rules. The wavering unit breaks and routs before the chargers move, if the chargers can still contact the wavering now broken unit, it must move into contact with them, otherwise it may choose to contact a new target instead.

I assume this is a case of halted by fire and disordered and you want to close to within 2 Mu. In this case I would say 2 rolls, one to advance and one to get within 2 MU while disordered. Failing the first roll you can't get closer, so no move. Fail the second roll you can move forward but must stop more than 2 Mu from any enemy. Passing both rolls you can advance as close as you want.

You need a CMT to advance and a second CMT only if you wish to move to within 2MU. NB..... You only need a CMT to advance when disordered if you wish to move to within 2MU.
This does not apply during a charge. Units that need a CMt to charge when disordered have already taken that test.

As the previous reply:
Broken unit makes a rout move
Chargers contact them if still within reach (unlikely).
Chargers may contact another unit within 2MU of their path if they can't catch the routers.
